Elizabeth and Elise’s efforts allowed the patient to witness her sister's wedding, making it a profoundly meaningful experience for everyone involved.
Elise has been nominated for the DAISY Award by three colleagues who have witnessed her exceptional dedication and compassion worthy of a DAISY nomination. Elise and her fellow nurse, Elizabeth, provided outstanding care for a critically ill patient who was nearing the end of life. The care team had arranged for the patient's sister to have her wedding at the hospital, allowing the patient to be present. The patient’s condition was condition deteriorated rapidly, and Elizabeth and Elise made her last wish a top priority. With precious moments left, Elizabeth and Elise worked to ensure the patient could attend the wedding. They coordinated to move the ceremony up by several hours and went above and beyond to create a special atmosphere, arranging for balloons, a cake, and treats for the family.
