I was floated to 1 Center as a staff nurse, and Daniel Mariani was my lead nurse. Daniel went above and beyond his position as a Lead Nurse on this very busy Sunday. I noticed he attended to numerous call lights for the patients, delivered meal trays, attended to the needs of the patients, and performed personal care since we have only one care partner in this big unit. Aside from managing this big unit, Daniel also helped his nurses with their tasks and even asked me personally if I needed help. He multi-tasks and is good at time management and prioritization. Daniel is a very soft-spoken, diplomatic, and democratic lead nurse. I witnessed how Daniel is very caring, compassionate, and professional, with a big heart for the patients, families, and nurses in 1 Center. One of the things I noticed about him is that he was so attentive, kind, and accommodating to every patient, visitor, and staff in 1 Center. I consider him the Florence Nightingale of 1 Center. I have a lot of respect for him.
