We were asked to open this new service in July of last year. The goal was to provide these treatments to at least 50 patients per month in the community. In the first three months, over 90 patients were served each month. Then it increased to 100, 125, 135, and 165, and just last month, we served almost 180 patients! This is 180 patients who were treated in a timely manner, in a safe environment, and able to return home. As immunocompromised patients, it is important to refrain from being in the ER if possible. Our team provides a much-needed service to this community. Being able to treat patients in an outpatient setting is good stewardship to all involved. The nurses come to know these patients- they take the time to listen and interact as they provide a service. They care deeply and are so willing and eager to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
