She said she heard I was coming and wanted to be there for me. She hugged me, and we went to my room. She helped me settle in. Seeing her there waiting and giving me a hug was like a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders.
Donna didn’t only make a difference, she was the difference! My current hospital situation was all new to me. I came to the hospital due to my BP being so high with my pregnancy. I met Donna in Triage and received my first IV ever! Then I was told I might need to stay for observation, which scared me because I’ve never been a patient in the hospital or ever stayed at a hospital. Then, they were trying to find my baby's heartbeat on the monitor, and they could not find it. My anxiety rose quicker which didn't help my blood pressure. Donna was there to explain everything to me and really calm my nerves. I ended up being discharged and told to monitor my blood pressure.
I ended up in the hospital a few more times after my initial, and Donna was there every time, including my early delivery. Donna gave peace of mind to my husband and I. It was our first time with a pregnancy and a lot of firsts for me. When I saw the doctor, and he told me I had a choice to deliver at 4 pm today or 8 am tomorrow, my heart sank! He said the earlier, the better, so I said 4 pm, let's do it. Donna was right there at the doors upstairs, right where they opened. She said she heard I was coming and wanted to be there for me. She hugged me, and we went to my room. She helped me settle in. Seeing her there waiting and giving me a hug was like a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders.
I was so thankful for Donna being there every time I needed her. It feels great to have someone so dedicated to their work. You can tell she loves what she does and she goes out of her way for her patients. Even after delivery, we see her up in the NICU as well, and she always stops and checks on us and our baby girl. I can’t thank Donna enough for being such an amazing person! She really puts in the hours. I enjoy seeing her every chance I get. My baby girl and I will be here for a while, being only born at 25 weeks and 2 days. We are, as a family, very thankful to have received care from Donna.
