Susan came in on her day off to give chemo one weekend. This is not unusual, as she is always willing to help and does all she can for her coworkers and patients. This particular patient was not doing well and was recently told his condition was terminal. Susan was quick to react to the patient's medical needs and got him as stable as he could be, but she didn't stop there. She asked the patient what kind of music he liked, played his favorite songs for him, and sang with him as he sang along and played air guitar to his music. She gave a very sick and scared man a moment of carefree joy. Not an easy task! Susan truly cares for the mind, body, and soul of all of her patients. Her kindness and compassion brought light to someone on their darkest day. We are so blessed to have a nurse who exemplifies what it means to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
