We had a patient come into the Department complaining of a horrible headache. The patient was brought back, and Lauren came to assess the patient. Lauren noticed a huge change in her demeanor, and after speaking to family members and getting a brief history from family, Lauren made the quick decision to get her back to CT for testing. Turns out the patient had an intracranial brain bleed. Teams sprang into action to get the patient the immediate care she needed. Lauren facilitated the whole time, making sure the patient was comfortable and got what she needed. The bottom line? Lauren literally saved this patient's life. Lauren embodies all the great qualities that a nurse should be. Her dedication to this profession is to be admired. Her compassion supersedes the meaning of "above and beyond." The care she provides is outstanding and from the heart. The tenacity in getting the immediate care that this patient needed, saving her life, and continuing on to the next patient without missing a beat. Lauren went in to see a patient in the ED who had a chief complaint of nausea and quickly recognized that a stroke alert needed to be activated. This prompt attention to the patient and recognizing that she needed immediate intervention got her to CT scan quickly. A large ICH was identified, and the patient received the immediate care that she needed. Lauren stayed bedside with the patient the entire ED visit and provided expert and compassionate care to her and her family. Lauren's quick recognition of this patient's critical condition and taking the steps to get her cared for are only one example of what makes Lauren so exceptional. She comes to work 100% of the time with a smile on her face and works so very hard the entire time she is here. She goes above and beyond every shift to help her coworkers. She is kind and compassionate to all her patients and families while delivering exceptional care. So proud of her and so glad she is on our team!!
