Nurse Atwood talked to the pharmacist again to be sure that my prescription would definitely be filled that day, then called me to inform me what occurred. Ann kept me in the loop throughout the process.
My nurse, Ann Atwood, saved my life by spending hours of her time while I was away in Pasadena, California, as I needed the medication that enables me to sleep. My Neurologist determined after my first appointment that my chest and legs were burning, along with extremely loud noises in my ears following lab tests that revealed an extremely high B-6 level in my system, causing these extremely painful burnings. He put me on a drug that enables me to sleep that he’s only allowed to prescribe monthly. I began to work with Ann on the foods that didn’t have but a small amount of B-6 in them. By working with her, my levels went down significantly. I now want to explain why Nurse Ann Atwood, besides all the care she provided above, should get the DAISY Award! I had to have a prescription, and while in California, I needed a prescription refill as I was almost out of my medication. This is where Nurse Atwood worked diligently to obtain a prescription filled at CVS pharmacy in Pasadena. The Pharmacist told Ann after she called in my prescription that it would be filled. Ann made a phone call the next day to see if my prescription was filled, and to her dismay, it wasn’t. Thus, with her excellent perusal of this situation, Nurse Atwood talked to the pharmacist again to be sure that my prescription would definitely be filled that day, then called me to inform me what occurred. Ann kept me in the loop throughout the process. When Ann called me again with the good news the pharmacist was filling the prescription at that very moment, can you imagine my gratitude I expressed to Ann. If I didn’t have this medication, I would revert to my symptoms of burning chest and legs & blasting in my ears. Thus, Nurse Ann Atwood is my hero and a DAISY Nurse. She means more to her patients than all the white billowy clouds in the sky around the world.
