RN Joy Enriquez has performed way above my expectations, and her exemplary service demonstrates the Mayo Clinic philosophy that the patient comes first! I am a 67-year-old 100% disabled retired Navy Chief Corpsman who has the privilege of nominating this outstanding nurse for this prestigious award. I am awaiting a heart transplant and Joy has been my nurse on several occasions. She has gone way above what I expected as her required duties. She listened to me and took care of all my needs, even when it may have been difficult for her. Her positive can-do attitude, never complaining, and taking care of my every need. She even designed the graphics for my Ballon Pump. She took care of my every need and never showed any sign of complaint, even though my requests were quite needy. If she were in my Navy Command, I would nominate her for the Meritorious Service Award because she exemplifies excellence, compassion, and expertise, and most of all, she truly believes in the Mayo philosophy: The Patient Comes First.
