Compassion is Andi's superpower! Not only does Andi show compassion for my medical conditions and treatments, but she cares about me as a whole person.
Andi is an amazing nurse who exemplifies the six values of compassion, justice, excellence, dignity, integrity, and safety.
Compassion: Compassion is Andi's superpower! She goes above and beyond each time she is my nurse. Not only does Andi show compassion for my medical conditions and treatments, but she cares about me as a whole person. The little things that she does make me feel comforted and seen, such as helping me get my electric blanket set up and comfortable and checking in on me throughout my 2-hour treatments.
Justice: Whenever I have issues with my doctor's office and the treatments that I receive in the Medical Treatment Center, Andi is my greatest advocate. She stands up for me and what is in my best interest.
Excellence: As one of the charge nurses, Andi demonstrates excellence by leading the Medical Treatment Center team by example. She gives 100% of herself at work, not only with her patients but with her fellow nurses.
Dignity: Andi demonstrates dignity every day by speaking and acting with self-respect and seriousness in manner, appearance, and language. She is an excellent representative of the Swedish Providence community as a whole.
Integrity: I never doubt that Andi is acting in my best interests and my health. I know that whatever information she tells me is the truth, and I trust her implicitly.
Safety: Getting a port implanted in my chest was a decision that I took very seriously. I was most worried about the safety implications, including the risk of infections and sepsis. Andi always follows sterile protocols and has never given me a reason to worry that my line has been compromised. Each and every access and de-access of my line is done in a sterile manner, and I trust her implicitly. Andi is an exemplary nurse, and no one is more deserving of a DAISY Award than she is!
