Adam embodies a spirit of service that he carries with him in every part of his life and has made our whole family feel loved and supported.  He helped us appreciate how much the nurses value each patient because their patients have chosen life.

Adam carefully explains the journey of the stem cell transplant process so that when the patient and family go through the very frightening process, their fears are calmed.  The patient feels safe in his care because of his outstanding knowledge and skills, but moreover his emotional intelligence.  He understands the apprehension and soothes even the greatest of anxieties.  His sunny disposition brings calm to the whole BMT unit.  He is good for his word.  If he says he’ll be back to take care of something, he does.  He definitely extends his caring to the whole family unit.  Even through the small act of hospitality and kindness of offering family members something to drink, he shows he cares about every aspect of this patients.  His patients feel seen, heard, understood, and ministered to.  They feel safe with Adam’s care.  I’ve never met a nurse more deserving of this award.
