Eric truly made us feel comfortable knowing the kind of care he gave to my father.
My father was a patient of Eric's during his stay in the ICCU before he passed away recently. During his stay, one evening, my father had a medical event occur that was life-threatening. During this time, we were unsure what the outcome would be. Eric was very informative, compassionate, and supportive during this time. Not only did Eric stay by my father’s side during his entire 12-hour shift, but he also stayed by my family's side as well. The first night Eric was assigned to my father, I asked him if I could sleep in the room, and with no hesitation, he agreed. He offered and retrieved anything I needed and more. Eric and I got along well. I, too, am an RN, so we had a lot of sharing during this time. We even showed each other our cats! If I wasn’t in my father’s room, I would have been in the waiting room. Eric would constantly come out to check on us, to the point where we had gotten scared a few times, thinking something had gone wrong! One evening, Eric came out to the waiting room, sat down to chat, and just checked on us. A few other times, he wanted to let us know he was close by even though he hadn’t been assigned to my dad on those nights. Eric truly made us feel comfortable knowing the kind of care he gave to my father. Most nights were sleepless, but we were able to rest knowing we had such a great nurse with my father. Not only did he nurse him but us as well, and I think that shows the genuine love Eric has for nursing.
