I can't remember many details from that day, but it was dear to me how much time Savannah spent checking on me and asking if there was anything she could do to make me more comfortable.
Savannah was so caring and attentive not only for my physical well-being but also my emotional needs. I came to the ED because of an extremely negative reaction to Paxlovid after testing positive for COVID. I had no idea how dangerously low my sodium and potassium levels had become during my illness. I was extremely nervous about the diagnosis and the necessity of going to the hospital. Savannah made sure I had warm blankets and socks as I was shivering during the IV fluids. She explained clearly and calmly what she was doing at all times so I would not be afraid. At the point during the day, I started to cry I was overwhelmed when my husband left, and she gave me tissues and turned down the lights in the room so I could rest. I can't remember many details from that day, but it was dear to me how much time Savannah spent checking on me and asking if there was anything she could do to make me more comfortable. Nursing is such a thankless job. I can't imagine cleaning up a bedpan, which she did multiple times, and changing the sheets after an accident with such care. She actually said, "Bless you, let me clean that up for you," and not once made me feel worse since it was humiliating enough. I hope and pray that she understands how much we appreciate her care and skill as a nurse. My husband was kept informed of every decision. Savannah went above and beyond what I expected a Nurse's job to be and was kind and understanding.
