Danielle is a consistent example of nursing excellence. She seeks out learning opportunities, reviews policies as a charge nurse to help guide the team when questions arise, and shares her expertise with others. She consistently supports the team above and beyond expectations. For example, Danielle was the triage nurse on the busiest day Mentor ED has ever had. The lobby was at capacity to the point the atrium waiting area was opened. Danielle stayed late, continuing to triage every single patient, initiated nursing protocols for every patient, and then implemented every single order. She was observed speaking kindly to patients who were frustrated about the wait time and provided blankets and drinks to those waiting. She was key to the team’s success in a very challenging surge. She consistently steps up when challenging situations arise (which happens daily in the ED) with a calming attitude while exemplifying CC values day after day. Another nurse bought Danielle a badge reel that reads “Emotional Support Co-worker” which is incredibly true. She is consistently awesome every day, every interaction, with an attitude that shows she loves her patients, loves her team, and loves being a nurse at CC.
