The way she looked at me and her touch was so caring - she calmed me down in a way I never thought was possible!
Amy was hands down the best person I’ve encountered in any sort of medical situation. She was my labor and delivery nurse for my second daughter, and she was so sweet. She made sure I had everything I needed. She even interacted with my first daughter when she came to meet the baby and always had a smile on her face. I am so grateful for the experience she gave me postpartum. She doesn’t know a stranger and makes you feel like you've been friends forever! If anyone deserves a DAISY Award, it's her!

Amy made our first eight hours at the hospital a truly great experience. She was warm and knowledgeable and provided information, insight, and valuable feedback to my husband and I. This was our second birthing experience and Amy's personality, and care made it a significantly more pleasant time. Amy answered my curious husband's questions for twenty minutes and never made it feel like we were inconveniencing her. She also had the opportunity to leave during her shift change but insisted she wanted to stay with us! In an at times cold & dark world. People like Amy give hope and kindness and seem to impact those around her positively. We cannot thank her enough for helping us welcome our son to the world!!

My fiancé and I still talk about Amy to this day, almost 3 months after I delivered my first baby girl. When I went into triage, I was met with the typical blood draws and needle pricks - which I have never been a fan of as I always get lightheaded. Well, if not liking needles wasn’t enough, I have very poor veins and I gave triage a run for their money. I got pricked about 5 or 6 times before they were able to get something from me. Once settled in the room, Amy was our head nurse at the time, and she came in to do her normal introduction. she was so sweet! She had this beautiful smile that really could distract me from everything that was going on! Later a different nurse came in and told me that my sample clotted, I believe that was the term, and that they had to get another sample. Well, Amy happened to come right when they were getting ready to stick me. I was getting overwhelmed, and Amy came to my bedside, and I will never forget, as I was holding onto the side rails squeezing to distract myself from the needles, I felt tears roll down my face and it was a soft cry, just a few tears and she looked at me and wiped my tears and talked to me. I don’t know if that’s something they do for everyone, but when I tell you at that moment, I felt the most love from a stranger. The way she looked at me and her touch was so caring - she calmed me down in a way I never thought was possible! Right after she did that, I heard the nurse who was getting the sample say she got it, and I knew it was somehow from Amy being there and comforting me. Sadly, my Amy girl wasn’t there when I gave birth as I was admitted at 6am, and my daughter was born at 1:11am the next day. Amy was sure to see me before she left! She also made sure to check in the next day, even when she said she was in the nursery section that day. It was funny because that whole night after delivery my fiancé and I were talking about how amazing she is and that we hope to see her again. I was in the bathroom, and I heard the door open from one of the nurses checking on us, once they left my fiancé rushed into the bathroom and said IT WAS AMY! Even he was excited. All in all, I feel she deserves this award. Her face is embedded into my memory forever and I will never ever forget her. Thank you, Amy.
