Dawn is an exceptional nurse and treats my mother with so much dignity and respect! My mother has been getting infusions for years. She is considered a very difficult "stick" as her veins are like a disappearing ghost! We started here at Franciscan several months ago, and my mom was so afraid. A new place, new nurses, just more anxiety and trauma.

Mom has vascular dementia, and changes can be tough. Dawn was able to settle Mom with kindness and just the perfect touch of humor. My heart lightened, knowing we would be okay in her hands! Dawn is an exceptional nurse. She is the best at getting IVs started, even when the others can't! She is patient and spends the extra effort to get it done right. This combination of exceptional skills and kindness with humor is rare. I dealt with hundreds of nurses on the journey, and Dawn is the step above. My mom asks now if Dawn will be there when we come for infusions. Although all the nurses are great, Dawn represents what I feel is excellence. Elder care and ongoing infusion may not be nursing that gets recognized a lot, but Dawn and her care improved my mom's life.
