She has also been a steadfast perinatal bereavement advocate, helping support parents after a loss, teaching new nurses about best evidence-based practices, and assisting with an annual memorial service.
Terri has been a fundamental part of educating the next generation of nurses at Beebe School of Nursing for many years, but also oversaw the creation and development of the simulation lab. After creating the postpartum hemorrhage simulation for the students, she was instrumental in moving to provide in situ simulation drills for the entire obstetric dept at Beebe, working with L&D, neonatal nurse practitioners, midwives, and physicians to do a sim day, encompassing a shoulder dystocia, a neonatal resuscitation, then a postpartum hemorrhage, putting into practice interdisciplinary team training. This simulation day was presented at the Biennial Sigma Theta Tau convention, then published in Nursing for Women's Health.

She has also been a steadfast perinatal bereavement advocate, helping support parents after a loss, teaching new nurses about best evidence-based practices, and assisting with an annual memorial service. She taught a statewide Resolve Through Sharing perinatal loss class twice, sharing knowledge to empower other nurses to implement better practices confidently. She has helped me become a better educator and patient advocate and promoted connections across the state of Delaware between facilities. She continues to inspire me even in retirement.
