Kathy has been extremely passionate about getting this project off the ground successfully and at pace. As such, as an organisation we are way ahead of other organisations in the region in being able to provide this vital service to our patients.
I am nominating Kathy for her dedication and commitment to leading the launch of Martha’s Rule within the organisation. From day 1 Kathy has been extremely passionate about getting this project off the ground successfully and at pace. As such, as an organisation we are way ahead of other organisations in the region in being able to provide this vital service to our patients. This has been down to Kathy’s sheer determination and commitment to ensuring patients and their relatives are listened to and heard when they raise a concern. Kathy has spent many hours meeting with and talking to individuals, attending preparatory meetings, and communicating with stakeholders, internally and externally. Kathy has often given up her day off to ensure there were no delays in getting this service off the ground for our patients. Prioritising patient safety and enhancing trusting relationships between doctors, nurses, patients, and their families, and most importantly, ensuring our patient’s voices are heard.
Following a successful launch Kathy is not resting on her laurels and continues to seek opportunities to extend this service in the future to other sites within the Trust. Kathy has a naturally positive outlook on life and has breathed positivity into this project and has helped our clinical teams to understand and appreciate how Martha’s Rule can benefit patient safety, patient experience and also be a supportive tool. This has meant having some difficult conversations, which Kathy has done with dignity and professionalism. Kathy continues to dedicate time to this worthy project whilst we refine and perfect this service. Thank you, Kathy!
