When Annie took over on the evening shift, I was still a little nervous since this was my first major stay since childhood, but Annie immediately came in and let me know I had nothing to worry about and would be there for me and not to worry. Annie had a gentle spirit, and her kindness and peaceful helpfulness put me at ease. Not only did she check on me through the night, but she also showed the sweetness of a mother caring for her child. My mother was a nurse, and I used her example of what the perfect nurse should be like. Annie is truly an example of what a perfect nurse is like and what they should be like to ease and help any patient. She was gentle, patient, helpful, soothing to my spirit, and made me feel as if I were the only person who was admitted. She kept me from feeling embarrassed when using a bedpan and let me know that "I've got you" when I felt unsteady. She was truly a blessing and, in my estimation, a God-sent angel! She was one of the best parts of being here at NYU Langone and a beautiful representation of your institution. She is someone you really need to hold on to as a prized employee. Best nurse ever! I thank God for her and thank the nurse manager for having her here with me.
