I wanted to recognize Adam Tremper for excellent patient care and communication with different teams to achieve optimal outcomes. An elderly patient was admitted to the burn unit, yet he was not a burn patient. He had been experiencing severe pain that was difficult to control because he had multiple other conditions. Adam was able to successfully advocate for a nerve block. He also consulted speech therapy and did many things to make this patient comfortable. The next day, Adam was not scheduled on the burn unit, but he walked over during his break to follow up. He verified that the nerve block was placed and found that it did help control the patient’s pain. He made such a good impression on this man, that the patient asked two weeks later how Adam was doing and when he would be back to visit.
