Olujimi (Jimi) is an RN working in our clinical contact center as a clinical call coordinator. She works remotely for GLA VA but lives in Orlando, FL. She was working locally for our department for years, but when we changed our work status to remote work, she moved to Florida to be with family. Jimi is an excellent RN and an even better clinical coordinator.

Last month, we had three supervisors away on leave, leaving only two managers to run the department. Jimi stepped up and assisted the nurse managers with coordinating the daily schedule and staffing and additionally monitoring any issues that the staff had throughout the day. In addition, she fields calls from the staff if they have questions, also assisting veteran callers or caregivers if they have difficult issues that the staff RNs cannot resolve. Jimi is always willing to volunteer and assist with extra duties and always provides assistance with a cheerful and kind demeanor. The fact that she's willing to roll up her shirt sleeves and pitch in anytime is a real indicator of her professionalism and willingness to assist any discipline in our department. I think she is an example of what a caring, professional nurse is all about.
