She didn't have to, but she stood next to me, holding my hand and telling me that I did absolutely nothing wrong. It was something that I needed to hear, even if I already knew it was true.
Morgan Parrish was incredibly helpful when I needed it most. Less than 24 hours before she started her shift, my husband and I discovered that our baby boy in my womb no longer had a heartbeat. We were devastated and going through an excruciating time. I was 38 weeks pregnant and delivered my baby two days later. Morgan was the nurse tending to me at the point when I was beginning to be induced for labor. Her kindness and actions totally exceeded her job expectations. That morning, she personally went down to Starbucks and bought drinks for my husband and me. Later that day, she went to get me a popsicle and even offered me two choices. Then she made me a "mommy mocktail" of Sprite and cranberry juice. None of these things could bring my baby back, but her gestures immensely helped us in our tough situation. She held my hands when it was time for me to get my epidural and continued to stay in the room to talk to me for at least 20 minutes. She didn't have to, but she stood next to me, holding my hand and telling me that I did absolutely nothing wrong. It was something that I needed to hear, even if I already knew it was true. She told me about her personal life and just comforted me as best as she could. I was sad when her shift ended because I knew I wouldn't get to hear her little lines of comedic relief anymore, but she gave me that push of strength when I needed it most. My family and I all agreed that she made an incredible impact on us that we would never forget.
