What sets Morgan apart is her unique leadership style. She is supportive without ever being overbearing, striking the perfect balance between being a mentor and a peer.
Morgan is an extraordinary nurse leader who embodies what it means to care deeply—not just for the work being done, but for the people doing it. For as long as I’ve known Morgan, she has been a kind-hearted, driven, and dedicated leader who always chooses to do what is right for the people. I’ve seen her step up to advocate for her staff in moments when they needed it most. I’ve seen her create excitement and energy during challenging times. What others might shy away from, Morgan will always say, “Let me see what I can do.” And she always follows through, too!

Morgan doesn’t just lead—she uplifts, inspires, and ensures that everyone around her feels valued and empowered. One great example occurred recently at the beginning of this professional governance term; the perioperative team faced challenges with engagement due to staff being on leave. This can often be seen as an obstacle, even one that would cause a pause on something as impactful as nurses using their voices for change…Morgan saw it as an opportunity. She carefully identified several team members she knew had potential, encouraged them, and built their confidence. Thanks to her vision, the Peri op Unit Practice Council has gone from minimal participation to a thriving, full unit practice council with nurses from all her units, who will come together to tackle meaningful, impactful projects that will benefit patients and staff alike.

What sets Morgan apart is her unique leadership style. She is supportive without ever being overbearing, striking the perfect balance between being a mentor and a peer. She sees the strengths in every individual and works to bring out the best in them. Her latest goal—to achieve 100% certification for her OR team—is nothing short of groundbreaking. Eight of her OR staff are currently signed up for their CNOR certification, something that has never been seen in Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital history! This is a huge deal in contributing to our nurses’ confidence in their OR practice and the safety of our patients, and possibly something we can write about and showcase to the world. All because it started with Morgan’s belief in her team’s potential and her commitment to setting new standards for excellence.

Achieving these transformations—these shifts in culture—is no small feat, as change is never easy. It takes a deep understanding of the “why” behind these decisions and the ability to articulate them in ways that resonate with and inspire the team. Morgan embodies these skills with grace and exemplifies them every day.

When a leader like Morgan is in place, the impossible can be achieved.
