Meleah's dedication to providing excellence in her care was evident through her exceptionally timely ability to anticipate my mom's complicated and diverse needs.
My 87-year-old mom was recently hospitalized in a very serious condition, battling a complicated mix of life-threatening conditions. She has spent a considerable amount of time in St. Joesph's/Trinity Health Ann Arbor over the last decade, and I've always been impressed with the quality of care delivered by the nursing staff. Meleah was her nurse for two consecutive days and was absolutely phenomenal in her approach to care, clearly going above an already very high standard.

Meleah's dedication to providing excellence in her care was evident through her exceptionally timely ability to anticipate my mom's complicated and diverse needs. She also did so while demonstrating compassion and sensitivity to a patient and family who understood end-of-life was possibly at hand.

Meleah always had the right mix of optimism, honesty, and humor to make my mom's time with her as good as it possibly could have been. She was also engaging with my Dad (who is very hard of hearing) to make sure he understood the care being administered.

During one period where the attending physician was in discussing how to handle end-of-life decisions, one of the pieces of equipment in the room required repair. Meleah quietly and efficiently went about affecting the repair (which didn't appear straightforward) with zero disruption to the difficult conversation at hand. When called upon by the physicians for information, she accurately communicated complicated information in a highly effective manner, giving the physicians the insights they needed to make treatment recommendations.

Again, the care my mom has received over the years has always been excellent, but if I could make a mold for all of her caregivers, I would use Meleah for that mold. Truly a special person who delivers special care.

Despite challenging medical circumstances, it was an absolute JOY to have Meleah as my mom’s nurse for 3 days. She knew my dad, brother, and me by name like no other nurse we’ve had in the past. By the end of the 3 days, we felt like she was family in the best way possible. She was consistently kind, gentle, and compassionate, yet always professional. I was surprised to learn that Meleah was a relatively new Nurse- She carries herself in a way that gives us confidence in Mom's care. Meleah, you have a gift for caring for people.

Thank you for letting your light shine!
