Jennifer provided exceptional care for my 94-year-old grandmother, who had a horrific fall at an LTC. When I arrived, Jennifer and a coworker were carefully and meticulously using saline in my grandmother’s hair to determine any further scalp/ear lacerations in addition to the left eyebrow (resulting in 3 stitches). This was not an easy or pleasant task! However, Jennifer gently worked for nearly 40 minutes before concluding no further lacerations. My grandmother also had a severe left forearm laceration to the degree of adipose and muscle layer which later required 20 stitches. Jennifer had already responded to this injury to minimize environmental exposure until the provider was able to assess and treat it. Throughout this 5-hour night, Jennifer’s care, concern, and sincerity were beyond “everyday” compassion. Jennifer skillfully balanced the delivery of care as well as being patient and family-focused. I am so thankful that Jennifer was my grandmother’s nurse during this very emotional ED night. Kudos to you, Jennifer for being an exceptional nurse! You are truly representing the nursing professional.
