From the moment we met “AGK,” we felt we had landed in a good place in the Heart Tower. His physical appearance was calming, tall, solid, and pleasant with a huge smile. In short order, we were installed in our room with all we needed. My husband was the patient, but due to my memory issues, I was staying, too. AGK's shift ended, and before he went home, a pull-out chair and linens were brought for me, so the night began, and everyone took good care of us.

AGK returned the next morning and immediately went over the events and numbers of the night. He spoke with us about the upcoming procedure for my husband. He listened to our concerns about scheduling and time constraints, and as soon as he got information, he gave it to us. He changed out the chair/bed I was sleeping in (antiquated) for a modern recliner.

We learned that AKG was from Nigeria and is now settled in Texas. Being a native Texas teacher, I admired his bravery and hard work in moving halfway around the world and embarking on such an ambitious career and life. His compassion and care for us in every way was so appreciated. We will long remember AKG as a superior person and nurse of the highest caliber.
