Dustin is a rapid-response nurse who typically responds to emergent issues within the facility. In this situation, he just finished with an issue on 4B. As he was leaving the unit, he witnessed many staff members crowded around a veteran who had voluntarily laid on the floor and was refusing to get up.

This patient had been on the unit for many weeks and had several ongoing issues with his mental health and dementia. Dustin laid on the floor with the veteran and talked to him in an attempt to assist with getting him off the floor. After several minutes, we were able to assist the veteran off the floor and into his room.
