I could tell she really enjoyed helping people, and for Bianey, it was nice to help BCSO inmates.
Nurse Bianey Nunez is a true asset to the Boulder County Jail Medical unit. Her excellent assessment skills, knowledge, and positive attitude are just a few of the reasons she is a great candidate for this award. Bianey received nominations from her patients that demonstrated the exceptional care that she provides at the Boulder County Jail. Below is one patient’s nomination that was read during our ceremony:

“Bianey is amazing. She is always positive, with a smile on her face. I’ve been locked up in the BCSO since 2021, and I've never seen Bianey with a bad attitude. I'm sure her fellow staff members would agree. Anytime I'm in the pod when she comes into the pod/module, she leaves smiles on every inmate Bianey interacts with. I am so glad that the DAISY Award is back. She’s an example of how a good person should be: positive, nice, and a good listener. It takes a patient person to work in such an unattractive workplace. When a nice person (nurse) enters into your life, you never forget the way they make you feel. I remember the first time we met. She was pushing her medical cart with a big smile. I could tell she really enjoyed helping people, and for Bianey, it was nice to help BCSO inmates. Bianey made me feel like a human, not a criminal. With every medicine given, with no mistake, I was even told to have a great night. It made me feel like there were real, genuine people in the world. With all the words I write, I just want to say thank you, Bianey.”

Thank you, Bianey, for your exceptional care and dedication to your patients at the Boulder County Jail.
