Jason is an inspiring leader who has fought alongside us, shared in our struggles, and continuously seeks ways to improve not only our unit but also to provide support for us as nurses and individuals.
Jason exemplifies qualities of trust, compassion, and mutual respect, as well as a commitment to ongoing professional development. He is always approachable, encouraging everyone to seek his guidance. He actively listens and strives to make a positive impact. Jason empowers his staff to enhance their performance and advance in their roles. He demonstrates compassion and understanding towards a patient with a specific patient, treating her with the same care and respect as any other patient, regardless of her circumstances. He frequently offers to serve as a patient sitter, ensuring that the workload of the staff on the floor remains manageable. Even during busy periods, he willingly leaves his office to assist his colleagues, often stepping in as a Patient Care Technician or Nurse to support the team. In my six years of experience on the floor, I have never witnessed a nursing manager take on the role of a PCT or nurse to aid the unit, a practice that Jason engages in on a weekly basis. He embodies the true essence of 'servant leadership,' consistently seeking opportunities to enhance patient care and boost employee morale.

Jason is an inspiring leader who has fought alongside us, shared in our struggles, and continuously seeks ways to improve not only our unit but also to provide support for us as nurses and individuals. Jason's dedication to fostering a sense of community among his colleagues goes beyond the realm of professional behavior. He has established an Employee Recognition Committee within his department, aimed at providing support and a sense of belonging to all employees. This committee extends its assistance by sending cards to employees undergoing surgery, experiencing loss, graduating from college, or celebrating birthdays. By celebrating employees and offering unwavering support during difficult times, this committee plays a crucial role in boosting morale. Additionally, the committee recognizes outstanding employees from each department through 'You Rock' acknowledgments, allowing coworkers to appreciate and acknowledge one another.

Jason's exceptional leadership is further exemplified by his management of three separate units, a task typically handled by a single manager. Despite this added responsibility, Jason ensures no favoritism is shown among the units, viewing them as one cohesive entity. His inspirational approach as a nurse, leader, and manager has had a positive impact on our unit.
