Emergency surgery is never what you want for your kid, but dealing with appendicitis while only 6 weeks postpartum was a whole other beast. Chelsea transported our family from the ER to the surgery floor and helped us through surgery and the PACU portion of our stay. I was blown away with her care and attention to detail. She was comforting my daughter, the patient, and us, the freaked-out parents. She listened to my daughter's stories, explained what was going to happen, and helped reassure her when she was scared. She even decorated her post-op cup with her favorite color and a flower doodle that brightened up our day ("Mom, my cup is fancy! The flower is smiling"). Chelsea went above and beyond, and her care was so appreciated. Thank you, Chelsea!
