Cynthia can often be found down in the rooms visiting with the patient and their families even when there is not a “task” at hand or work required.
I would like to nominate Cynthia Rogers from the PSJH Chewelah Acute Care unit. Cynthia has worked here with us at PSJH for a while now, and I have been able to witness several times the high level of care that she gives to all her patients. She is a very caring and compassionate nurse. She can often be found down in the rooms visiting with the patient and their families even when there is not a “task” at hand or work required.
At discharge, I witnessed her escorting patients all the way out to their cars, personally wishing them well and giving them words of encouragement as they left the hospital. I have seen patients embrace her and thank her for the extra time that she takes caring for them. Often, on my rounding down the halls, I can hear her in the rooms visiting with her patients, just talking about the day, the weather, or getting them to talk about their interests and lives outside of the hospital and their current illness or situation that led them to be here with us. It has been refreshing to me as a supervisor to see a nurse take such extra time to give very personalized care and really go the extra mile for all her patients. It is a pleasure to work with her. I know patients that are assigned to her care are getting very personalized care. It is a pleasure to nominate her for the Daisy Award.
