She is such a sweet, caring, empathetic, happy, and giving person. It is always a pleasure to talk to and work with her. I always appreciate how she advocates for our staff and wants to improve how they are treated and taken care of within Optum.
Diane is helpful not only to patients but to employees who are their patients as well. She is hands-on with training regarding patient care, as seen through code and lift training. She ran multiple clinics within the facility and facilitated clinical trainings regarding the respective departments. She follows up on concerning information given by employees to make sure they are safe and taken care of. She goes above and beyond for her fellow coworkers and patients. If she can help, she will and then some. Diane often stays late, making sure that everything that needs to be taken care of is done before she walks out the door. Diane is hands-on and often works behind the scenes. She is the glue that has kept the Polyclinic successful. I think she deserves to be recognized for her hard work!
When there was an issue with the drinking filtration systems at the Polyclinic Madison locations, as reported by an employee. Diane took action and followed up through reporting to her leadership regarding the issue- bringing it to their attention.
Through her work, Diane is able to identify areas that can be improved due to her extensive nursing experience and expertise. Diane will always keep up to date on the many briefings involving healthcare/ public health using that knowledge to improve care, adding those to the work she does re: quality and safety.
Diane is a true advocate, she is not only a preceptor and willing to advocate for her trainees, but she will also advocate for the needs of employees. She makes sure that they feel supported and listened to (both in work/health and if they are experiencing something that is impacting their job).
When it comes to the care that Diane delivers, she does so extremely compassionately and uses very inclusive and sensitive verbiage to help the patients not feel judged and acknowledged. After that as well, she will follow up on them in the future to check how they are long term - Care and Respect are in her DNA.

She always goes above and beyond. Whether she is giving me my Covid shot or coming up to my department because I had a reaction to the flu shot one year ago. She helped me when my desk was not ergonomically set up. And countless other times. And I am just one employee. I see her do this for everyone she helps.
She is kind and detailed in everything she does. She asks and does not assume anything.
She always goes above and beyond. And I am just one employee. I see her do this for everyone she helps.
She is very conscious of the fact that people often forgot to get their vaccinations. She reminds people but does not make you feel bad about it.
She always asks before touching. She uses a calming, low voice even when someone is acting agitated.

Diane was very helpful when I needed to get my flu shot for the 2023 season. She was a great communicator on when times were available and got me set up.
She shows accountability, follows through, and shows safe practices in patient/employee care.
Diane is involved in patient education, practices quality and safety daily, and advocates for patients and employees.
She actively listens to patients and their needs, goes above and beyond for the clinic, its employees, and the patients.

Diane was one of the very first people I engaged with as I was onboarding and getting fit tested over 4 years ago. We formed a great relationship over both of us being an RN with quite a bit of mileage under our belt. Having been at TPC a lot longer than me, she has been a great asset and resource. She is such a sweet, caring, empathetic, happy, and giving person. It is always a pleasure to talk to and work with her. I always appreciate how she advocates for our staff and wants to improve how they are treated and taken care of within Optum. When fridge/freezer temp monitoring transitioned to the PMs from Employee Health, she went WAY out of her way to support, train, and remain a resource post-transition. The same is true as we are transitioning the lift team to the sites and departments. Despite not having direct patient care, she treats the staff with the same care and compassion as she did when she had direct patient care. The staff are now her patients!
As an Employee Health RN, this one is one of DIANE's primary roles is to ensure, staff and patient safety are constantly being reviewed and improved upon.
Just recently, she reached out to me because one of our staff members had been injured while at work. The employee was running into some difficulties getting a clinician to help her. DIANE reached out to me to see if I could help this employee get the care she needed. She then followed up with both the patient and myself to make sure the employee had received the care she needed. Not receiving the care quickly could have meant the employee was out of work longer which the employee had voiced she could not afford to do. Daine wanted to make sure the employee was seen medically and taken care of because of her financial situation. Because of her advocacy, the employee was seen quickly and did not have any financial impact.
If you talk to anyone about the Employee Health department they all know DIANE and speak so highly of her and how much she is respected. They all have a story to tell of how she has supported or helped them or someone they know.

Diane has all the attributes of a nurse that I strive for as a nurse myself - kindness, compassion, hard work, and putting others before herself. As an employee health nurse, she is unafraid of reaching out to employees about their concerns and strives to do all she can to help them. As a fellow nurse, I trust her judgment and work ethic as I have seen her consistently advocate to do the right thing for the organization's employees. As a mentor, she has endless patience and not only shows me how to be a good nurse, but demonstrates it herself every day.
Diane always goes above and beyond to make sure employees are heard about their concerns and advocates for what is best and safest for them and the organization, which leads to safe patient care.
As an Employee Health nurse, Diane not only follows the policies and procedures that are consistent with federal regulations but also provides feedback to ensure our practices are based on evidence.
Diane always makes sure to advocate for employees, especially when employees find it difficult to advocate for themselves within the department, such as seeking timely care if injured on the job.
I not only have great respect for Diane as a nurse and as a person, but I feel respected and heard when I work with Diane. Not only does she have a great deal of knowledge that she shares willingly, but she is also open to learning new ideas and processes.

When you're a nurse, you know that every day you will touch a life or a life will touch yours. Thank you for your tireless efforts and selfless service.. I worked with DIANE during COVID at the vaccine clinic and on a daily basis she went above and beyond the expectations to support our team.
