He always sat with me. Nurses don't sit. It made me feel comfortable because I felt like he truly wanted to hear about my life. He was very kind and compassionate.
I was hospitalized and had Jason as my nurse. After sitting 30 hours waiting for a bed, I was tired and not in the best of moods. I was frustrated that I was there and felt fine even though I had passed out again. Jason redirected my thoughts to talking about how I grew up and what I did before retiring. He always sat with me. Nurses don't sit. It made me feel comfortable because I felt like he truly wanted to hear about my life. He was very kind and compassionate.
He called my wife, who was to come up at 11 am but they were not going to be done doing things to me until 3 pm so he called her and explained everything to where she understood exactly what the plan was, so she didn't drive all the way here and not be able to see me. You would not know that he had other patients to take care of because he made me feel like he was just there for me. When he was with me, he made that time of my stay as enjoyable as possible and had moments where I was genuinely happy with being in the hospital. When it was time to go home, he again sat with us when most people stand and took time to explain the game plan and what to expect.
I went to my family doctor for my hospital follow-up and asked the MA to look up who Jason was and asked how to give him a shout out and helped me submit this during my visit. Jason is a phenomenal young man and offered me the best medicine that was offered during that stay, kindness and compassion. I hope this gets him the recognition he deserves.
