Patty was basically another mother figure for me during this really terrible situation. Patty offered me tissues, hugged me, she also offered me to go get lunch while she took care of and comforted my mom.
My mom was admitted suddenly, and we later found out she has widespread cancer. She had to go to the endoscopy unit so they could get a biopsy of her lung. My mom recently went through a very hard divorce that left her with a lot of anxiety and nervousness. After my mom’s procedure, while she was coming out of anesthesia, she had a panic attack. This happened as I was sitting right by her side. Patty started holding my mom’s left arm down and I held her right arm because she wanted an oxygen mask off. She was in a full-blown panic, and it was so scary. Patty was trying to comfort my mom, saying, “This is helping,” holding one arm down and charting at the same time. During this time, she also comforted me, as I was crying a lot. Patty was basically another mother figure for me during this really terrible situation. Patty offered me tissues, hugged me, she also offered me to go get lunch while she took care of and comforted my mom. Patty displayed such a comforting, caring, and sympathetic display towards my mother and me that I will never forget what she did that day. She helped calm both my mother and I down while juggling 10 different things at once and not once did she display any stress, attitude or anxiety. She was a true professional in every sense of the word. Thank you, Patty, for comforting both my mom and me during that difficult time. I will forever have such a tremendous respect for her.
