I am not a patient but a coworker of Rafael, I have had many leaders in my life at different facilities that I have worked and I must say Rafael has to be one of the absolute best Nurse Leaders that I have had. Every time I go to work and I know he’s the one leading the team, I feel a sense of ease and confidence that if anything goes wrong, he will lead the way and fix the issue. When he is on his shift, he walks around the entire unit and asks us all if we need anything, making himself so available even though he has his own leadership tasks to do. He pushes us to do better, and he knows everyone’s strengths, using that to his advantage to make sure the unit runs smoothly. He delegates so very well and is an amazing communicator. I can write a whole story of how great it has been to have him as my Nurse Leader but I won’t. I just hope he knows his hard work does not go unnoticed and I truly appreciate him being the way that he is and hopefully he remains this way.
