She loves what she does, it shows, and she has become such a huge tool for the diabetic community that anyone she works with has unlimited resources for life, at least it seems that way based on her unwavering support.
I've always wanted to nominate, Tricia our diabetes educator for the prestigious DAISY Award. Her compassion radiates from within and she has such a warm non-judgmental yet informative relationship with her patients. I know firsthand how amazing her communication with staff and her patients is in regards to their diabetic plan and goals short team/long term. She's available anytime she's working and always willing to take the patient's by the hands to really support them and help them succeed and feel confident that they can live a long prosperous life with their diagnosis. She loves what she does, it shows, and she has become such a huge tool for the diabetic community that anyone she works with has unlimited resources for life, at least it seems that way based on her unwavering support. Tricia helps guide new diabetics and chronic with comfort, compassion, and understanding and helps shape their plans to make them personalized for each person, keeping in mind that quality of life and realistic expectations are number one. Her patients' can never say enough heartwarming things about her, and she's beyond irreplaceable. This nomination and hopefully award is long overdue, but it’s never too late in her experienced career here. She's canceled her retirement planning to help assist this community here at the hospital a little longer, putting others before herself, and to help give her peace of mind that they are being helped and guided in the right direction. The fulfillment she receives from this career is palpable. She was born to be at the bedside and to teach others. She's become such a wonderful friend of mine and I selfishly hope she stays here for the duration of my career here at Beverly....so potentially another 25 years! We'd be lost without her ray of sunshine.
