When Hurricane Milton approached, and the hospital started to talk about activating the storm team, leadership reminded team members to bring their own air mattresses and bedding as they could not provide beds or linens. Knowing that a number of our team members might be experiencing financial hardships that would prohibit the purchase of an air mattress, Rachel immediately went to the store. She purchased all the remaining air mattresses on the shelf so that members of our storm team would have a comfortable place to sleep. Rachel consistently goes above and beyond in her role as Patient Safety Coordinator to provide exceptional care to both patients and team members, and this is just one of many examples. She is beyond deserving of recognition with a DAISY Award.
