She goes above and beyond with compassionate care and understands how to help our veterans feel like they have adequate attention, not only their physical needs, but also their psychosocial needs.
“It’s a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.” - unknown. It is a simple statement but has a great deal of meaning, especially to Angelie Pangilinan, who came to SFVA in 2019 during the beginning of the SARS-COV2 pandemic. She then started a community outreach program where the Float Pool nurses would go into the community to vaccinate and obtain COVID tests from veterans. In 2021, she volunteered to assist with the understaffed remote CBOC locations to ensure continuity of care for veterans in rural areas. In 2022, she was awarded as the best preceptor to the PB-RNR program. Angelie chose to come to Veterans Affairs because she believes it is an honor to give service to those who have served our country. She goes above and beyond with compassionate care and understands how to help our veterans feel like they have adequate attention, not only their physical needs, but also their psychosocial needs. Her dedication to our organization and our veteran community shows her ultimate passion as a tremendous nurse. A patient nominated Angelie, stating, “When I first met Angelie, she had a natural aura around her, which is very spiritual, loving, kind, and funny. Her laughter is very disarming and welcoming. She is a perfect example of the namesake Angelie/Little Angel.”
