Edward is constantly pushing himself and his team to achieve at a higher level.
Edward exemplifies compassion through empathy, respect, and kindness every day at work. He prioritizes getting to know his staff on a personal level, recognizing that they are individuals with their own needs and challenges. He ensures that he is accessible and a resource for everyone. Through his compassion, he supports his staff and ensures that everyone understands that they are valued.
As such, he has improved his sense of belonging and overall well-being in the unit. In terms of agility, Edward is quick to adapt to challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth. When faced with staffing shortages earlier this year, he coordinated with interdisciplinary teams to streamline workflows and minimize disruptions to patient care. His flexibility and resourcefulness not only kept our unit functioning efficiently but also maintained high staff morale during a stressful period.
Edward is constantly pushing himself and his team to achieve at a higher level. He expanded the boundaries of patient care through the partnership of the volunteer pilot program. In the past year, he has successfully collaborated with a colleague to provide education for surgical nurses based on their learning needs assessment, which has helped improve nurses' competency and satisfaction for both surgical units. Edward is a very detail-oriented individual and often consults others if he sees any issues or areas that need improvement.
