She consistently demonstrates the highest level of care and compassion, significantly impacting the lives of her patients and colleagues. During my sister’s stay at UMC El Paso, she was under the care of Emily in the ICU. From the moment she introduced herself, my sister and I felt reassured and comforted by her warm and professional demeanor.

For example, Emily noticed that my family and I were particularly anxious about my sister’s hospitalization. She took the time to explain everything in detail, answered all our questions patiently, and stayed with us until we felt calm and reassured. This level of personal attention made a world of difference to us during a very stressful time. Emily also showed remarkable teamwork and leadership. She supported colleagues during busy shifts, always ensuring that patient care remained the top priority. She embodied the true spirit of nursing through her dedication, empathy, and professionalism.
