My husband was a patient at the Stress Center in October, and the one nurse that went above and beyond was a night shift nurse named Alexa. Whenever I called for updates on his care, Alexa always took the time to give me detailed information that helped me understand the situation better. She listened to my concerns, assured me that she would pass these concerns on to the team, and then followed up with me the next night. One of my biggest worries was my husband's nutrition. During one of his worst days, he refused to eat or drink anything. During her shift, Alexa sat with him and they shared a bag of potato chips so that he would have something to eat before bed. After coming home, he still remembers this interaction.

When your loved one is in a mental health crisis and you cannot be with them, it means the world to know that compassionate nurses are taking care of them. My husband was adamant that he did not want to be on this earth anymore. The care that he received from Alexa and other staff members at the Stress Center changed that for him. I am forever grateful to everyone there.
