Jennifer is our nursing administrator for the department of OBGYN at ECUH. She not only keeps our department running clinically, effortlessly making sure that we comply with regulations, have supplies we need, and provide exemplary care to patients, but she also is an amazing people person. She manages personnel issues while maintaining the respect of all the staff. She manages patient issues effortlessly and is a true professional at diffusing highly emotional situations. In my experience working with Jennifer as the Medical Director of our clinic, she has helped me with quality projects and has been recognized with a top poster award for one of those projects.

One memory I have was a pregnant patient who came into the office with a nosebleed. This was no ordinary nosebleed as the patient quickly soaked through towels. There were limited providers in the office and those there were busy. Ultimately, Jennifer handled the situation like a pro. She first tried to stop the bleeding with pressure; then, when that failed, she placed tampon trumpets in both nares. She checked her vital signs and kept everyone calm. When the bleeding failed to stop, she took the correct next step and called EMS to transport the patient to the hospital. I am so thankful that Jennifer was there to help control this situation. This is an OB office where we do not typically manage severe nosebleeds such as this. Ultimately the patient was seen by ENT, required multiple blood transfusions and finally delivery. Her ability to remain calm and take the correct steps to escalate care was above and beyond what many providers would have felt comfortable with.

Jennifer always goes beyond the call of duty and regularly works after hours, never complaining. I am so thankful for Jennifer's support and grace every day. She deserves this award.
