Beyond her contributions to health informatics, Cinda has been a steadfast advocate for patients. She was a driving force behind the creation of the MAB clinic, which played a vital role in treating patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to prevent hospital admissions, and ensuring quality care during an unprecedented time.
It is with great honor and admiration that we nominate Cinda Lott for the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. Cinda has dedicated an incredible 38 years to healthcare, with 35 years as a compassionate and driven nurse. For the past 21 years, she has been an integral part of the Wellstar team, demonstrating unwavering commitment to excellence, patient advocacy, and transformational leadership.
Cinda’s impact has been truly remarkable. She played a pioneering role in launching Wellstar’s first Electronic Health Record (EHR) system by rolling out Meditech. Her work in customizing Meditech’s reports was instrumental in supporting West Georgia on its Lean Journey, fostering efficiency and innovation across the organization. Notably, her leadership was crucial in the seamless transition from Meditech to Epic in 2018, ensuring enhanced patient care and streamlined workflows.
Beyond her contributions to health informatics, Cinda has been a steadfast advocate for patients. Her work has not only improved patient outcomes within Wellstar but has also provided valuable insights and guidance to other hospitals on their own improvement journeys. Her ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change has left a lasting impact across numerous departments.
In her role as Lean Site Facilitator on the Growth A3, Cinda has led transformative initiatives in collaboration with cardiology, marketing, and orthopedics. Her innovative thinking and dedication to Lean principles have resulted in meaningful improvements, advancing the organization’s mission and strategic growth.
Cinda has also served as a mentor to many new nurse leaders, helping them to develop a servant leadership mindset. She can be trusted to see the whole picture and do what is right, even when what is right is not easy.
