Alexis was my night nurse while I was in labor. I am a first-time mom, and she made it feel like I was her only patient. She provided great care and assisted in the delivery of our baby girl. I have a weak stomach and didn’t want to use the mirror, so she provided verbal updates every step of the way. Since we delivered in the middle of the night, we had to stay another night to meet the full 24 hours before being discharged. Alexis was my nurse for the second night as well, and it's something I will forever be grateful for. I had to send my husband home since we didn’t have someone to stay with our dogs another night, so it was just me in the hospital with our newborn. The baby started to cluster feed, so Alexis offered to take her to the nursery to give me a few hours of sleep. I don’t think I would have been comfortable just sending her with anyone, but I knew she would be well taken care of by Alexis. Honestly, I think the baby was probably spoiled by Alexis and received the best snuggles while on her trip to the nursery! I regret not getting a picture of Alexis holding the baby to have for our memory bank. But we are forever grateful for the care we received and the confidence we had in our care during such a vulnerable and important time of our lives.
