We had a Vietnamese woman in CCU who was unable to understand any English. We got the translation device, but she was unable to understand it due to dementia. The woman was post-op for abdominal surgery and was in pain and constantly moaning and squirming in bed, not understanding her circumstances. She would calm down with touch but would go back to moaning. She was frightened!!  

Sealey found some traditional Vietnamese music on her phone and placed it beside her. The patient fell asleep and slept for three hours. Sealey then made sure the following nurses would do the same because this comforted her in ways nothing else could. This is true holistic nursing care. This is going above and beyond to help her patient. I wish we had more nurses like her. This is truly what nursing is all about. She is Awesome!!!
