Ana is a wonderful nurse and coworker. In a time of need, she is always available and willing to jump right in and assist. She always cares for our patients with compassion and respect, as well as her coworkers. When having to assign a nurse a sixth patient or a 3rd primary, Ana will usually volunteer if she is able to help our 4 south night shift team. She always comes to work with an infectious smile and a refreshing attitude. I appreciate and respect her opinion and clinical judgement. Whenever asked to pass a med or help a fellow nurse out, she always makes the time to be a team player.

On a rather eventful shift I was running charge, we had two RRTs, a patient receiving multiple units of blood, among the other typical events of a shift. A nurse left at 3 am and Ana was the first to volunteer to have a sixth patient to her already tasking assignment. Even though she did not get assigned the additional patient, she still was willing to help a coworker with a blood transfusion, help during the RRTs, and pass some AM meds for myself and others. We are so grateful to have her!
