I am a charge nurse over 7W; I work with Amanda frequently. Although there are countless reasons why she deserves to be recognized, one event stood out to me in particular. There was a custody patient admitted for seizures. With this patient population having to be in restraints at all times, it can be more difficult to manage care. Amanda has gone above and beyond for this patient. She has meticulously attended to his ADLS and made sure his needs were met both medically and emotionally. Though all of our patients, custody or not, should be treated this way - it doesn't always happen. Amanda is a prime example of a nurse who treats all her patients with respect and kindness regardless of their background. She surpasses all nursing expectations and is truly a DAISY Nurse.
