Peace was truly a Godsend to me in more ways than one. My praise of her, I have to start with the night before her shift started. I had surgery. I was placed on IV nutrition. The night before this nurse came on was day 4 of the IV nutrition and I was getting very weak. So at 2 am, when my tech unhooked me so I could use the restroom, I made the decision to discontinue it until I spoke to my surgeon later that morning. I needed a break, between that and not getting any rest since my surgery, it was just too much.

They say joy comes in the morning. Well, one morning, a beautiful nurse walked into my room. She introduced herself to me: “Hello, I’m nurse Peace, and I’ll be your nurse today.” This particular morning, I needed Peace. I knew I was in good hands. I truly felt at Peace. She was so kind, and her compassion for me covered me like a blanket. As she examined my surgical site, she asked me if anyone had given me a binder. I had no idea what a binder was. She explained it to me and said she would have my doctor order it. She kept me updated all day on it and by the end of her shift, she had that binder in hand and wrapped it around me. She was the only nurse that told me about it. When she described it to me, she also shared her background as an ICU nurse. Her experience sure came in handy for me. I’m so grateful for my binder! It has helped with my pain and stability.

I’m so appreciative of Peace's great attention to detail and her heart full of kindness and compassion. I can’t thank her enough for the way she cared for me.
