Jeff was a phenomenal nurse! He was my night shift nurse for two nights. Even on his first shift with me, he came into my room already knowing all of my diagnoses, medical devices, and medications off the top of his head. He consistently took extra time to answer any questions or concerns I had, and if he didn’t have the answer, he made sure to find it for me. He was extremely knowledgeable about not only all of my needs but all of my personal preferences as well. He treated me with so much compassion and, without fail, found the perfect balance of giving me autonomy while also assisting me when needed.

I know he must have been so busy these evenings as I could hear other call bells going off and his phone ringing off the hook, but his smile never wavered, his attentiveness to my needs never wavered, and he’d even stick around a few minutes longer and talk to me when I just needed someone to talk to. Additionally, one instance really stuck out to me when I asked him if they had any lotion he could bring me as my skin was becoming dry. He intentionally brought me back the better quality, hydrating, unscented, hypoallergenic lotion instead of the other thin, scented lotions because he knew that I had skin and scent sensitivities and wanted to bring me the best lotion. While this may seem small, this experience made me feel so well cared for and genuinely seen and valued as a patient. It also shows how every single act that he did, down to bringing lotion for me, he put extra time and thought into it. I feel so grateful to have Jeff as a part of my care team; he is definitely an extraordinary nurse!
