As a senior faculty member and mentor, she has played a pivotal role in the Program Director’s Special Interest Group, mentoring three novice program directors over the past two years.
Since initiating membership, this nominee has consistently served and contributed to the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF). Her initial service began as a junior faculty serving on the DNP Curricula Sequencing Task Force. Then, her transformative experience in the inaugural cohort of the NONPF Leadership Program propelled her into significant leadership roles as she served two elected terms as a NONPF Board of Directors member. As a senior faculty member and mentor, she has played a pivotal role in the Program Director’s Special Interest Group, mentoring three novice program directors over the past two years. Two mentees have participated in or will participate in the NONPF faculty Mentoring Leadership Program.
As a NONPF Board member, this nominee spearheaded the development of two influential white papers – one addressing the DNP Nurse Practitioner Scholar and the other discussing racial and ethnic diversity among NP educators. She also served as a co-author on a NONPF white paper that addressed telehealth in NP education and led a collaborative effort between NONPF and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to develop a checklist to help guide the clinical collaboration process between nursing programs, faculty, and NP students. This checklist was included in the 2022 National Task Force (NTF) Standards. Furthermore, the nominee has served twice on the Curricular Leadership Committee and consistently volunteers as an abstract reviewer for the annual NONPF conference.
Finally, the reach of this nominee's servant leadership extends beyond NONPF. In 2018, she was nominated by the NONPF Board of Directors and appointed to the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice (NACNEP). As a council member, this nominee is tasked with shaping policy recommendations on nurse education, workforce development, and practice for the U.S. Secretary of Health and Congress. Her voice is instrumental in supporting post-licensure education and clinical practice by advocating for NP faculty salary equity and infrastructure to support NP education.
