Liang personifies the nurse who would go to battle for you!
Nurses are often put in very difficult positions and face unpleasant situations. Still, you always sense their mantra is that "every patient deserves the best care possible," especially from my nurse, Liang Chen.
So it can be dicey when there’s a divergence. As a patient, I’m here to get well. But there are patients who make it difficult for other patients. Some people don’t want to deal with disorderly patients. But Liang personifies the nurse who would go to battle for you!
When I told Liang I couldn’t sleep because of the highly vocal roommate, he immediately saw/heard my concern and understood the situation. He wanted to ensure my stay was calm so I could get better, so he went above and beyond and escalated my concern to the appropriate parties. By the next day, I was moved to a new room (with a window view). Over the next few days, Liang really nursed me. He checked periodically on my care, comfort, and reasonable requests for aids to help heal. He put me first as his patient to ensure that I was best cared for and could be in a room where I could rest. I even asked the PCD if, whenever he's working, he could be my nurse, and thankfully, that request has been honored.
What made him extraordinary was his attention to details that most people don’t bother about. Specifically, observing the oxygen levels periodically at night, ensuring that my Pure Wick is fully attached and not leaking. He even adjusted the angle of my TV. He consistently came in to check on me, talk with me, and get to know me as a person. Anything I needed, he was there. I can't say enough about Liang. His team loves him, and you can sense that he loves being a nurse! He is highly professional, knowledgeable, friendly, energetic, and full of positivity.
Finally, this guy anticipates and understands when I’m about to endure something (E.g., a shot, a procedure) and tells me in advance. He reassures me it’s short-lived and knows I’ll get through it. He’s nursing at its finest. I’m so grateful to have been cared for by Liang!
